First Week at One Girl Cookies

It was the first of February, another sunny, mild winter’s morning, when a tweet was sent out into the interwebs announcing One Girl Cookies would soon be open for business… “Today is the day! The new shop opens its doors at noon. Stop by to say hello! 33 Main Street…the sweetest address in #DUMBO.” And sweets enthusiasts across the neighborhood rejoiced.
Promptly at noon, the door opened and customers were welcomed in to the space. One Girl herself, Dawn Casale, ran the show behind the counter, assisted by her stylishly good looking entourage. Chatting up their new neighbors and guests, the staff served up their infamous whoopie pies oozing with filling, deliciously moist cakes and picture perfect cookies. It was the perfect day for the grand opening.
We recently stopped in for an afternoon sugar fix and caught up with Dave Crofton, Dawn’s other-half, about the first week of business. Dave said, “We’ve been really surprised to find such a wonderful sense of community in DUMBO. All week long, customers have been wishing us well, while also introducing themselves and telling us where they live in the neighborhood – everyone has so much pride to be a part of neighborhood! It has been awesome!”
And if, collectively, we aren’t caffeinated enough as a neighborhood, One Girl is brewing Stumptown coffee (which is also used to make coffee ice-cubes for their iced coffee). All of the seating in the shop faces the large windows overlooking Main Street, perfect for grabbing a treat and a seat to watch other DUMBOnians go about their day.
Items to note: Pumpkin or chocolate whoopie pies, Stumptown coffee, dulce de leche chocolate cake slice.
One Girl Cookie is open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 6:00PM, Saturdays from 9:00AM to 6:00PM, and Sundays from 10:00AM to 6:00PM.
Welcome to DUMBO, One Girl Cookie!
