DUMBO Galleries, Spring Break Style
For college students everywhere, it’s not just another week in March – it’s Spring Break. In New York City, it’s Armory Arts Week, and some of our DUMBO art galleries are in on the action – both here in New York and abroad!
If you too are headed to Mexico for Spring Break, check out MINUS SPACE en Oaxaca! The exhibition, Panorama de 31 artistas internacionales, will present the works of 31 reductive artists from all over the world at the Instituto de Artes Graficas de Oaxaca (IAGO) and will also include four large-scale, site-specific works on view at Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Oaxaca (MACO), Museo de los Pintores Oaxaqueños (MUPO), Biblioteca Henestrosa, and IAGO Juarez.
Or for those “stay-cationing” in the City, venture uptown to visit DUMBO’s own Mighty Tanaka will be showing with the Fountain Art Fair! The exhibition, ‘Raw to the Refined,’ opens Friday, March 9 and includes inspiring artworks of both established and emerging artists. Make your way to Booth C-203 to support Mighty Tanaka!
You can also stay local for Armory Week’s “Brooklyn Night” in DUMBO on Saturday, March 10th. Dumbo Arts Center, Bose Pacia and United Photo Industries will be open late. We recommend making a night of it in the neighborhood by reserving a table for Galapagos Art Space’s Floating Kabarette, doors open at 9:30PM.
